Job Description

The Category Assistant roles is to assist the growth of revenue and margin within a category by supporting the Category Manager will the following tasks:

  • Product selections for Promotions
  • Categorization/Revenue Group
  • GLU product lines
  • Competitive Shops
  • New products template
  • Update existing products



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Merchandising reporting tools to pull products that are needed for promotions, DOTW, Chatter and any other promotional assistance Marketing needs
  • Categorize and add revenue groups to new products that were added to the site
  • Research product lines that are missing GLU and add them. This allows less searching for the customers
  • Competitive shop on the category top and secondary suppliers products to make sure we are competitive. Assist the Category Manager in making decisions on possibly increasing, decreasing , or adding bulk to products to be more competitive in the market
  • Complete New Product Template once the supplier sends back the Next Gen sheet. Making sure all information is returned properly in order to successful set their products up, add images and get them live on the site in a timely manner
  • Continue to update existing top supplier focused products with proper content, images and any other necessary updates the Category Manager may need

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
